Great. __________________ S65 Regular Join Date: 12-23-07 Location: Pacific Northwest Posts: 38 Country: As a college student living in a dorm, I hoped McCain would've gotten it. Despite this, I'm sure that everything'll turn out well. I hope at least. ----------------------------- Today, 14:04 PM #39 Doomarias Regular Join Date: 05-16-08 Location: Bronx, NY Posts: 86 Country: Disappointed but not surprised, it wasnt fun on the NYC subways to day with people high fiving over my head for Obama. People think this is the beginning of a new America. Hes got 1 term, then republicans are back. ----------------------------------- gunnut Senior Contributor Join Date: 01-28-06 Location: DPRK, Democratik People's Republik of Kalifornia Posts: 10,657 Country: The good thing is Obama has a history of going back on his word for political expediency. We just might avoid universal health care, higher income taxes, higher capital gains tax, higher energy cost, and most important of all, spread the wealth. ------------------------------ Herodotus Senior Contributor Join Date: 04-06-07 Location: Washington, DC Posts: 930 Country: It is good for the country, and good for the Republican party too. Obama was very open to working across party lines in his speech, and the Republicans would be wise to take him up on his offer. I also don't think that Obama will be as liberal/left as others make him out to be, and for those non-Americans who think Obama will be nothing but peace and love, I think they may be deluding themselves. Every American president works in the national interest, and more Democrats than Republicans have started wars. So we will see , he has to govern now, as TopHatter said. It is no easy task. One positive out of this election; I think Jesse Jackson can stop complaining now about "racist" America. Like I said, if he does well, I win. If he's horrible, I win. This is a win-win situation for me.
